Upcoming Nexus Event to Explore How to Control Your Professional Reality

Cranston, R.I. – Monday, April 29, 2019—All too often our professional reality seems to be held hostage by others and circumstance, leaving us feeling powerless to control our professional destiny. At the upcoming Women in Leadership Nexus chapter event, national keynoter and CEO of Atomic Revenue Tara Kinney will explore how to take back control of our professional reality, whether we are navigating the corporate workplace, our own business as entrepreneurs and everything in between.

The event, taking place on Wednesday, June 12, from 3:30-6 pm at the Radisson Hotel in Warwick, RI, will teach attendees how to recognize this seeming lack of control that can be specific to job function, work progress and professional advancement, and leverage proven mechanisms to change the outcome.

“Many times as employees of an organization we feel like cogs in the machine. As entrepreneurs, our customers control our work. While we may feel like our professional lives are outside of our control, we have a much higher degree of power than we even realize,” says Kinney. “In this workshop, I look forward to helping attendees channel a new professional mindset by recognizing they do have control over the reality of their work. I want those who attend to leave feeling empowered, encouraged and equipped with the necessary tools and techniques to start taking control of their professional reality as soon as they leave the space!”

Nexus members will learn how to shift their perspective to gain control of their reality by leveraging relationships more intentionally, reframing the conversation, seeing and embracing opportunities and owning their accountability, among other techniques. Attendees will participate in a series of experimental activities and have the chance to gain tips from their fellow peers.

“We are so honored that Tara will be sharing space with our Nexus leaders, imparting wisdom, frameworks and methodologies she has depended on as she has navigated her own professional reality—from managerially supporting 75 companies before the age of 40 to today serving as CEO of Atomic Revenue, a revenue operations firm out of St. Louis,” says Carrie Majewski, Nexus Founder. “Tara is the epitome of a next-gen leader, someone who is fiercely passionate about owning her own narrative to create lasting change, while maintaining a high-degree of humility and humanness as she continues to climb. It is a privilege to have Tara speak to the Nexus leadership community!”

The event will be hosted at the Radisson Hotel. The Radisson Hotel is the exclusive sponsor for this event.

“The Radisson is thrilled to have such inspirational women come together to learn how to take back control of their professional destiny,” says Cheryl LaBanca, Radisson Sales Manager. “Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader. They set out to make a difference. That’s what Nexus is all about—empowering women in leadership. When women support each other, incredible things happen!”
